Installation Using Yardley - Thermal Inserter
The Yardley Thermal Inserter offers an easy, efficient method of embedding metal inserts in thermoplastic materials. The process is simple and quick. The metal insert is placed on the pilot of the tool, heated to proper temperature and pressed into a pre-drilled or pre-molded hole in the plastic. The plastic adjacent to the metal insert melts to permit full seating of the insert. On removal of the tool, the plastic resolidifies in the areas where melting and material flow occurred, completely locking the insert in the plastic.
The use of correct, controlled temperature provided by this Inserter, protects the quality and structure of the plastic. Residual stresses so often caused by interference type retention are eliminated or minimized and there is no charring or weakening of the plastic.
